YIASOU GREEK FESTIVAL CHARLOTTE
Every Fall here in Charlotte a wonderful even known as the Yiasou Greek Festival occurs at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Charlotteans have enjoyed the event annually since 1978, taking in a sampling of the rich culture that is the local Greek community. The festival features many elements of Greek culture, includingcultural exhibits, authentic Greek cuisine and pastries, entertainment, art, shopping and more. Trust me, you want to sample the food as it is always delicious! I highly recommend getting a baklava sundae while you are there and getting a box full of the assorted baked foods to go. I always do!
As part of the festival, tour of the beautiful cathedral are offered. Tours and lectures on the history of our Cathedral are given every hour on the hour except Saturday 3:00 PM
Additionally, the youth who attend Holy Trinity from ages 5-25 perform traditional Greek folk dances and play traditional instruments throughout the festival.
